The Bet, Results-wise
Catherine Ryan Hyde
Yes, this confirms it. We are authors, not horse-racing experts.
Dialed In came in 8th, Pants on Fire 9th, Archarcharch 15th (but, in his and my defense, injured) and poor Comma to the Top finished 19th out of 19. What happened to Comma to the Top? First or second through what seemed like the whole race, then dead last.
Archarcharch had to be taken off the track in an animal ambulance, but the early reports are optimistic. A non-displaced and non-life threatening lateral condylar fracture.
Anyway. This means Brian Farrey "wins" the bet, and does not *get* to write a story (I can't say doesn't *have* to, because what could be more fun?). Brian dictates a story title to Andrew Smith, who dictates a story title to me, who dictates a story title to Kimberly Pauley.
So there you have it. Stay tuned for the stories!
Well, that didn't take long. After proposing a three-day limit on the issuance of titles, it's less than two hours post-post (a little--a VERY little--Derby humor there) and we have titles.
Brian Farrey has given Andrew Smith the title: "Miss Candor Sends Her Regrets"
Andrew Smith has given me the title: "The Art of Being Stuck Here"
And I (hoping to be funny, but maybe being unwittingly cruel) have given Kimberly Pauley the title: "Uncle Mo's Gastrointestinal Tract"
Here's hoping that when she wakes up (she lives in London) she doesn't march across the pond and kill me.
